A Day Trip to Vijayawada Kanaka Durgamma Temple

A Sudden & Memorable Trip to Vijayawada Kanaka Durgamma Temple ๐Ÿ™

Sometimes, the most beautiful journeys are the ones we never plan.

This is the story of my sudden trip to Kanaka Durgamma Temple, Vijayawada, on January 26th—a holiday for IT employees that unexpectedly turned into a soulful experience.

How It All Began

January 26th was a holiday, and just like that, the thought of traveling popped up. No long discussions, no overthinking.

My elder brother immediately booked Intercity Express tickets for both onward and return journeys. That’s it—the plan was locked.

The travelers were simple and close to heart: me, my brother, and my vadhina.

Our train was scheduled at 5:30 AM, so packing was done the previous night itself. No stress—only excitement and curiosity about what the day would bring.

Early Morning Vibes

The alarm rang at 4:00 AM—half asleep, half excited.

After a quick fresh-up, my brother and I decided on one important thing:
before temple darshan, we would take a holy bath in the Krishna River.

At 4:50 AM, we started from home towards Secunderabad.
The roads were silent, the city still asleep—those calm early-morning scenes felt special.

Train Travel Reality Check ๐Ÿ˜„

The train arrived 5 minutes late—as expected from Indian Railways ๐Ÿ˜‚.

We boarded happily but soon came the first shock.

We were expecting Pushpak-style semi-sleeper seats…
Instead, we got normal seating.

At that very moment, we three realized:
“Okay, today back pain is confirmed.”

The train slowly started moving. Early morning, sleepy faces everywhere including ours.

A Small but Meaningful Moment

During the journey, a small incident occurred.

A group from the Christian community started singing Antyakshari with Jesus prayer songs loudly. It was very early morning, and most passengers were still half asleep.

My brother politely requested them to lower their volume, explaining that it was a public place.

They immediately understood and stopped.

We are Hindus, but we respect every religion.
Every religion teaches good values—but mutual respect and public sense matter everywhere.

Finally… Vijayawada!

After passing several stations, we reached Vijayawada at 10:15 AM15 minutes early, surprisingly ๐Ÿ˜„.

Outside the station, we booked an Uber auto, which was very convenient.

My brother and I went straight for the holy bath in Krishna River.
It was refreshing, peaceful, and spiritually calming—though it delayed us a bit.

We already knew darshan would halt around 11:45 AM, and exactly that happened.

Amma Darshanam ๐Ÿ™

Before entering the temple, we deposited our luggage, footwear, and mobiles, as they are not allowed inside.

We opted for the ₹100 darshan ticket and waited patiently.

Finally, darshan reopened.

Those few seconds in front of Amma were priceless.

The mind became calm.
The heart felt light.
Pure happiness filled in me.

A truly blessed moment ๐Ÿ™

Prasadam & Temple Visit

After darshan, we sat peacefully and had prasadam.
Simple food—but it tasted divine.

Later, we visited Malleshwara Swamy Temple and a few small gopurams around the hill.

Next stop—Anna Prasadam.

Again, some waiting ๐Ÿ˜‚
The queue was halted briefly, then reopened after about 10 minutes.

Eating God’s Anna Prasadam felt deeply satisfying—both physically and spiritually.

Killing Time Before Return

After collecting laddu prasadam, bags, footwear, and mobiles, we came down.

Now the clock started ticking.

Time: 2:15 PM
Return train: 5:30 PM

My brother searched nearby places and found Rajiv Gandhi Park.

We took an auto and went there.
Entry fee was just ₹20 per person.

A peaceful park, calm environment perfect to relax.
We sat, talked, laughed, and refreshed ourselves.

At 4:30 PM, we started towards the railway station and stopped midway for tiffins to eat during the night journey.

Sunset, Silence & Sleep ๐ŸŒ…๐Ÿ˜ด

We boarded the train at 5:20 PM, and it departed exactly at 5:30 PM.

One of the most beautiful moments of the day came next.

As the train crossed the Krishna River bridge, the sunset view was breathtaking.

Krishna River bridge, the sunset view

I captured photos and videos—but more than that, I captured peace in my heart.

After a few stops, we reached Secunderabad at 10:40 PM and finally home by 11:00 PM.

Tired body.
Peaceful mind.
And the best sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด

Curtains closed.
That’s the end of my small yet unforgettable journey to Vijayawada Kanaka Durgamma Temple ๐Ÿ™
