How to Extend drives
:::How to Extend drives:::
Try search |==> Create and format Hard disk partitions from search bar (or) WIN+R ==> diskmgmt.msc ==> Enter
Make sure that, to extend any drive some unallocated space should be needed exactly beside the drive which you want to extend.
for example to Extend Drive C unallocated space should be there on right side to it.
1|Firstly try to create some un-allocated space on right to C drive by shrinking some space from it.
Path : Create and format Hard disk partitions (or) WIN+R ⇒ diskmgmt.msc ⇒ Enter ⇒ select drive ⇒ Right click ⇒ shrink volume(choose how much space you want to shrink, proceed further )
2|To add further un-allocated space to it you can shrink from other drives as well if that drive is not useful you can delete it as well. follow same path as above to shrink/Delete
Path : Create and format Hard disk partitions (or) WIN+R ⇒ diskmgmt.msc ⇒ Enter ⇒ select drive ⇒ Right click ⇒ Delete volume
You can also delete the drive beside to C drive if it is not useful to create an un-allocated space.
3|Once sufficient space is available, now we can proceed for extending the drive we took as example that is C drive.
Path : Create and format Hard disk partitions (or) WIN+R ⇒ diskmgmt.msc ⇒ Enter ⇒ select drive ⇒ Right click ⇒ Extend volume (On adding how much un-allocated space that needed to drive, Proceed further)
Also this step can be done from PowerShell (or) command prompt as well. follow the below picture, applicable only when first two steps are completed (Above all the steps can also be performed in command line).
Please restart machine once its done.
Note : Still many other ways are there to do expansion, you can use them as well for example: Third party app like EaseUS Partition Master.
Thank you.....😊
